Today I want to introduce you to the world of themed 7 11 stores located in Taipei, Taiwan.

Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if you were wondering why I even have a post about 7 11 stores in Taiwan, to begin with. But there’s a reason.

In Taipei, these stores are more convenient than the franchise in the US and some of them have interesting decor.

Some 7 11 stores here in Taipei have a secret theme from an advertisement agreement or sponsorship which means one thing; we can get a little bit more enjoyment out of a convenience store than previously thought possible.

Due to the popularity of each theme, many people have started looking for these unique stores around the city and have turned it into a sort of Bingo card game. Take a look at the ones that have been found so far below, and let me know your thoughts!

Coca cola 7 11 store in Taiwan
The store exterior is all dressed up

Coca-Cola themed 7 11

Coca-Cola is one of the world’s most popular carbonated drinks so it’s no surprise the brand is all over one of these 7-11 stores.

The store itself has some coke-related decor in the usually-empty section between the shelves and the ceiling. This might be small but it really stands out compared to your standard 7-11 store. The majority of the store is covered in red paint and wallpaper – as you can expect.

What makes this store a little different compared to some, is that they have a separate seating area for visitors to use upstairs. Here you’ll find a small “museum” of merchandise inside coke-bottle-shaped windows and a retro Coke advertisement wall.

You’ll also notice a long, narrow table which has been created using Coca-Cola bottle lids!

Location: No. 151號, Section 4, Bade Rd, Songshan District, Taipei City, Taiwan 105

Maserati racing theme

Unlike the Coca-Cola branded 7 11 in Taipei, the Maserati store does not have anything on the outside to make it stand out. Everything relating to the theme of Maserati & racing cars is kept inside.

Upon entering you’ll see the black and white decor which gives off a modern feel. There will be a Maserati bicycle as well as a mid-sized model car in a glass box as a central focus point.

Around the corner of the seating area, you’ll see a timeline of the Maserati brand as well as multiple glass cabinets with Maserati toy cars on display. You’ll definitely notice the museum vibe this store gives off.

Above the refrigerated juice section of the store, you will also see various images of Maserati cars so the theme continues in the whole store instead of just the seating area.

Location: 1樓, 7-ELEVEn 日內瓦門市 (瑪莎拉蒂主題商店), No. 59號, Lane 76, Ruiguang Rd, Neihu District, Taipei City, Taiwan 114

Hello Kitty Theme

Check out this store on my TikTok

It’s common knowledge that Taiwan loves the cute white anthropomorphic white cat from the Hello Kitty franchise. They already have an aeroplane dedicated to the cartoon feline so why wouldn’t they decorate 2 of their 7 11 stores too?

Two stores in Taipei have been decorated from floor to ceiling designs that show off the pastel colours and pink bows that compliment the Hello Kitty brand.

Here you’ll find merchandise with the furry feline face stacked up on a cat-shaped shelving unit. The tables visitors can sit at have many stuffed toys in the centre and you’ll even get the chance to order a hot drink and use a themed pink cup instead of the plain 7 11 standard ones.

Plus, you won’t be able to miss the giant Hello Kitty statue right by the entrance!

Some themed 7 11s don’t have anything outside, but you’ll see the exterior of these stores decorated pink!

Location: 7-Eleven Sanrio Themed, No. 7號, Wenhua Rd, Yonghe District, New Taipei City, Taiwan 234

Pokemon Themed 7 11 in Taiwan

As a kid, I was a huge Pokemon fan so I was quite excited to check out this Pokemon themed 7 11 in Taipei, Taiwan.

I’ll be honest though, this store didn’t seem to impress me as much as some of the other themes. On the outside of the store, there are three pillars, each with a different Pokemon painted on it (one of which is Charizard). These are hard to see unless you’re on the opposite side of the road.

Inside you’ll find Pokemon wallpaper on almost every wall. There is a seating area at the front of the store with some arcade-style Pokemon fighting games for visitors to use before checking out the merch along the entrance wall.

Towards the back of the store, you will find the common fast food counter with some new-generation Pokemon decorating the area. Not to mention each area of the store is categorised with wallpaper that matches each Pokemon “type” ie blue for water, and orange for the fire types.

Location: 7-ELEVEn 府中門市 (寶可夢主題商店), No. 82、84號, Fuzhong Rd, Banqiao District, New Taipei City, Taiwan 220

Neon green Heineken sign on the ceiling

Heineken theme

Heineken is a world-known beer from the Netherlands and they’ve brought it all the way to Taiwan. Unlike some of the 7 11 stores in our Taipei list, this one does have some decor on the outside of the shopfront.

There is a neon green star on the ceiling of the entranceway as well as an outdoor patio for the warmer days that customers can use as a seating area. There are also 2 separate seating areas on the inside of the store and one has an entire wall created by green Heineken bottles.

There are lots of little nods to the Heineken brand and its home country so you’ll see some signs showing images of some popular Dutch landmarks.

One wall near a closed-off area makes a specific nod to the Heineken Silver drink which is used as a sparkling photo backdrop.

Location: 7-Eleven 南京門市, No. 5號, Lane 303, Section 3, Nanjing E Rd, Songshan District, Taipei City, Taiwan 105

Kanehei Small Animals 7 11 in Taiwan

This is another cute themed 7 11 store in Taipei, this time based on the Kanehei Small Animals franchise.

Kanehei was the artist that created these adorable small animal designs that had originally been broadcast to the world via her website. Making its original debut in Japan, it was only a matter of time before Taiwan wanted to use the designs in another one of its 7 11 stores.

The entire store is decorated in pastel tones and almost every inch of the walls is related to the theme. You’ll see the fan-favourite characters including Piske & Usagi along with many of the others Kanehei created.

The seating area contains glass tables with merchandise inside miniature gardens, as well as giant stuffed toys in the same area for you to sit near.

Location: 1樓, 7-ELEVEn 威克門市 (卡娜赫拉主題商店), No. 208號, Section 3, Nanjing E Rd, Zhongshan District, Taipei City, Taiwan 104

Starlux 7 11 in Taipei, Taiwan

Starlux is another brand that needed advertising recently and that’s what inspired this 7 11 store. If you’re not already aware, Starlux is an airline that has only been around a short while.

As soon as you walk into the store you’ll see the left wall is shaped like an aircraft and each of the “windows” is a display case for merchandise.

You won’t be able to miss the large cinema-style tv screen replaying the Starlux story to customers using the seating area.

Plus, one of the store’s most popular features is the line of clocks showing different timezones above the refrigerator.

Location: 7-Eleven Dunhua North Road, No. 149號, DunHua N Rd, Songshan District, Taipei City, Taiwan 105

Mickey mouse decorations and paintings in the seating area of 7 11 in Taiwan

Mickey Mouse Theme

This store was actually located the closest to my accommodation so I couldn’t miss it. This store had less decoration than I had expected but the areas that were in theme went all out.

There was a Mickey Mouse entranceway with a small seating area and a range of bright pictures on the wall. Further around the corner, you will see a larger seating area with tables that have entire Disney villages made out of figurines inside.

Along one wall you’ll see images of Mickey dancing in his Fantasia wizard outfit, and on another wall, you’ll see a collection of small Mickey statues lined above a hockey mural.

Plus, the only part of the theme that continues through the entire length of the store is the Mickey-glove panelled flooring.

Don’t forget to check out the painted wall outside on the street!

Location: 號, No. 20-2, Section 3, Bade Rd, Songshan District, Taipei City, Taiwan 105

Open Chan 7 11 in Taiwan

For those that are not familiar, Open Chan is the cartoon mascot for the 7 11 franchise in Taiwan.

If you’re wondering why you recognise the character it’s because there was a viral video of an inflatable Open Chan balloon flying away. Many people online created remixed videos of the event.

As you walk through the store you’ll see a clear colour scheme of turquoise, yellow and green which are 3 of the main colours associated with this cartoon. You’ll see a “DJ booth” next to the seating area and all of the shelves and decorations are shaped like stars to blend in with the theme.

There are many more neon lights, and an entire wall dedicated to the Open Chan merchandise for you to look at. Even if you’re not local or familiar with the brand you’ll surely be able to appreciate the effort they’ve put into decorating this 7 11 in Taipei.

Location: 187號, 7-ELEVEn 漢中門市 (OPEN小將主題商店), No. 185號, Hanzhong St, Wanhua District, Taipei City, Taiwan 108

Entranceway to the Detectove Conan 7 11 store in Taiwan

Detective Conan

Detective Conan is another Japanese manga series that has taken over a Taipei 7 11. This store has less decoration compared to some others but the quality of the decoration is second to none.

In a brightly coloured seating area, you’ll see each chair has a character on it and throughout the store, you’ll find separate walls with Kaitou Kid and more.

Above the expected shelves used to display buyable items, you can see six well-known characters inside keyholes. You’ll find a consistent white background amongst all of the walls which makes the rest of the anime’s design really pop.

The seating area in this store is significantly smaller than many others on our list but you’ll at least have the chance to sit with your favourite character.

Location: 100, Taiwan, Taipei City, Zhongzheng District, Section 1, Kaifeng St, 42號7-ELEVEn 開博門市 (柯南主題商店)1樓

Summiko Gurashi themed 7 11

Isn’t this an adorable setup for the Summiko Gurashi themed 7 11 in Taipei? If you can’t already tell, this is another Japanese anime, except this one is about “life in the corner” when translated into English.

This is a brand that follows the lives of a few cute characters and the store really focuses on the characters spending time in the kitchen. You’ll even find a large shelf filled with merchandise shaped like a slice of bread!

On the right side of the door into the store, you’ll see a wall full of characters in the shape of food as well as a small market stall displaying yet more themed merchandise. The tables have small gardens inside with some cute stuffed toys inside.

Plus, many stores don’t include the area with the tills and staff within the decor, but this store is an exception. They have 7 of the furry favourites neatly lined up on the wall above the staff so you can enjoy the store to its full capacity when making your purchases.

Location: 7-ELEVEn 塔城門市 (角落小夥伴主題商店), 長安西路271號1樓及273巷2號, Datong District, Taipei City, Taiwan 103

Snoopy themed 7 11 in Taipei

Check out this store on my TikTok

This might be my favourite 7 11 store overall as it has an entire seating area downstairs, away from the store itself.

Not only will you see the expected peanuts-style comic strips above the purchasable items, but you’ll also see a timeline of the comic being created from 1950. You’ll notice there is decoration almost all over the store including on the doors with pictures of Snoopy and Charlie Brown among others.

Downstairs in the cafe is like stepping into the comic yourself as the latest character. You’ll see that every chair is shaped like Snoopy and the famous yellow school bus covers one entire wall.

The wallpaper is designed in different variations of Peanuts print on every wall and you’ll even find large stuffed animals and neon signs of Snoopy in one corner.

Every part of this store-come-cafe is magical and makes you feel like you’re in Hennepin County yourself!

Location: 1樓, 7-ELEVEn 紹興門市 (SNOOPY主題商店), No. 37號, Shaoxing N St, Zhongzheng District, Taipei City, Taiwan 100

Do you need some inspiration for other things to do during your time in Taipei?

Final thoughts on the themed 7 11 stores in Taiwan

As you can see from the images above, the 7 11 stores in Taiwan are much more interesting than those from other parts of the world.

Not only are they more exciting with regards to the theme they are decorated in, but they’re actually more “convenient” than the US version of this chain.

In previous years there were also a handful of temporary store displays that only lasted a short while such as the Pringles “Viva las Vegas” styled store. Typically, each of these themed stores appears when a particular brand needs an advertisement boost – and it works.

Have you been to any other stores I might have missed? Do you have a favourite?
